Dr. Prabhakant is a distinguished officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) with over 35 years of exemplary service in the Government of India. A dynamic leader and expert in taxation, governance, and public policy, he retired as the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, having made significant contributions to India’s tax administration, international taxation, legal reforms, and youth development. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to SNS Six Sigma Consultant LLP, where he brings his vast administrative and regulatory experience to support corporate governance, risk mitigation, and ESG compliance.

An alumnus of IIT Delhi, Dr. Prabhakant holds a Ph.D. in “Carbon Credit and its Impact on Renewable Energy,” an M.Tech in Stress Analysis and CAD, and a B.E. from BIT Mesra. His pursuit of academic excellence has been complemented by advanced executive training at Harvard University, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and IIM Ahmedabad, equipping him with global insights on tax systems, fiscal diagnostics, and public sector reforms.

Throughout his career, Dr. Prabhakant played a pivotal role in drafting regulatory frameworks, notably the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He handled several high-stakes international taxation cases involving multinationals such as Formula 1 and Qualcomm, reinforcing India’s position in global tax negotiations and legal proceedings. He also led the modernization of the Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) system at the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), streamlining data integration and compliance.

At SNS Six Sigma Consultant LLP, Dr. Prabhakant contributes strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, ESG strategy, and risk management. His role bridges policy and implementation, enabling organizations to align with sustainability mandates, corporate governance norms, and legal frameworks, both in India and globally.
